Hope was Gracie's only doe kid. Gracie died when Hope was a couple weeks old, so we decided to keep Hope, despite her erect ears. We are very glad we did! She has matured to be everything we could "hope" for from this breeding, and is a favorite. She is very wide, correct on her feet and legs. She's dairy and angular. Most impressive is her udder. Her attatchments are very strong and smooth. She also has lots of mammary capacity. As a kid, she had a very high, wide escutcheon, and when full her udder fills it completely.

Nougat is my "project" goat. I've always enjoyed seeing what different breedings produce. This one was especially interesting to me because the parents are so closely related. Many people stay away from breeding such as this because of inbreeding risks. Genetic diversity is certainly important, but a carefully linebred animal can often turn out to be something quite amazing. Nougat is no exception.
