General Lee and his twin, General Jackson, were our two foundation herdsires for Mini-Manchas. Though originally an accidental breeding, they have certainly left their mark in our herd, particularly General Jackson through his son, Chuckie. Both Generals were sold early on because we hadn’t yet found a good fencing system to keep them in. Before they left, we bred General Jackson to our best LaMancha doe, Nibbles (to produce Chuckie), and General Lee to our best Nigerian doe, Velma (this produced Olivia, who had a fantastic udder but died a month after kidding). We are looking forward to seeing the udders of their descendants. Currently we only have one doe left from General Lee, along with a buck and a doe descended from General Jackson.
